"I visit France from time to time. I rent apartments and it is sometimes complicated to get use of the phone on premises without extra deposits, etc. I searched out solutions and Brightroam seemed to be cost effective. Brightroam's service worked out great. It was also nice to have my own 'local' number that I could give out to my Parisian contacts. The previous time I was in France, I took a GSM phone that would ‘roam’, but I apparently did not have the right account privileges to actually use it. That was quite frustrating.
