Get connected with your laptop as well
Brightroam's SIM cards, fitted in USB and wireless modems, can also deliver
mobile connectivity for your laptops. Buy a wireless modem, and you can set up
your own wifi mobile network so you can connect your laptop AND your
Smartphones and Tablets.

How much does it cost?
Brightroam offers two kinds of plans for data:
-
Post-paid: you will be billed each month for the usage to date. Rates
are as published for each SIM card. We have rates less than $1 per MB for
certain countries! (Check out our incredible
US SIM Card
data rates!)
-
Data packs: you will purchase an amount of data (for example 10MB, 50MB
or 200MB) for 30 days and pay for overage at a different rate. We have great
plans with our UK card
, World Card
, China Data Plan
, France Data Plan
and Switzerland Data Plan.
All rates vary by provider, by country and whether you are roaming (outside the
country for that particular SIM card).

iPhones and iPads
The iPhone 3 uses a regular sized SIM, while the iPhone 4 or iPad needs a
MicroSIM. ALL of our SIMs may be supplied as both regular and MicroSIMs.
Make sure you check this off when ordering.

Coverage
Not all phones work in all countries, so make sure to check that your device
will work where you are going. When you select one of our SIM solutions from
the list, you will also have a map to show the coverage in that country.
Connectivity
Each SIM has its own connectivity parameters. These will be supplied to you with
your SIM card. Make sure you know how to configure this on your Smartphone or
tablet.
Keeping control of your usage
It is very easy to use more data than you plan to. Here are some tips for
keeping usage under control:
-
Find out how to monitor usage on your device. There are apps available to help
you do this.
-
Turn off the various notification services, so you only download information
when you want it, for example when you have a wifi connection.
-
If you use your Smartphone as a modem for your laptop, make sure the laptop
does not automatically initiate large downloads, like system updates.
Look here for a
guide on data consumption by type.
Brightroam will contact you if it sees unusually high usage, but this may be a
day or more after it occurred.
